New Season is with us again !!

The 2015-16 league season starts on Sept 1^st with a Div 1 clash between newly promoted Halesowen and last season’s high flyers Kidderminster. We then get into full swing very quickly. Our wonderful website will allow everyone to follow the action as it happens.

Let’s also remember the individual competitions that the league run, and encourage all those who want a bit extra chess to enter the Rock Cup and Bidgood Trophy.

The biggest challenge the League faces this season is to find a new secretary to replace Mike Groombridge, who will stand down at the AGM next May after 18 years service in that roll. We know Mike will be difficult to replace, and we are looking for someone who likes a bit of administration and can organise behind the scenes 3 or 4 meetings a year, and coordinate the administrative tasks without which the league will not function. Please consider if you can step forward, and if you need more information let us know asap.

The committee have received several suggestions as to how we can manage funds accumulated over the years, an action we took away from the last AGM is to bring recommendations back to next years AGM following suggestions from all the clubs, if you have ideas please let us know, they will all be considered.

Finally lets all have fun and enjoy another season of good chess in one of the best leagues in the country.
