Brian Whitehouse
From John Fahy Warley Quinborne Chess Club
It is with sadness that I am writing to inform you of the passing of Brian Whitehouse, arguably Warley’s longest serving player and long-time Club Treasurer.
We have been advised by Brian’s son John, that Brian had been admitted into the QE as he had suffered from an infection which subsequently developed into pneumonia and sepsis.
On recent visits to the Club, Brian would often recall some of the great local chess players of the past and encounters against them. He had a great love of the local chess scene and was a great supporter of it, although never one to require the limelight.
Brian is survived by his wife Margaret, two daughters, Sally and Elizabeth and two sons, John and James, as well as a number of grandchildren.
Funeral details to follow in due course.
